NLAW

Short-range anti-tank simulator

NLAW is a British-Swedish short-range anti-tank grenade launcher. It can be considered a simplified version of the Javelin: it is cheaper, easier to use, but has a shorter range. Like the Javelin, the NLAW operates on the “fire and forget” principle, which provides convenience in combat.

The NLAW is equipped with an inertial guidance system and a magnetic detonator, which imposes restrictions on its use in areas with metal structures – this can lead to a premature explosion of the rocket.

The combat mass of the complex is 12.5 kg, which is significantly lighter than the Javelin and makes the operator’s work less tiring. Training with the NLAW takes less time than with the Javelin.

The main disadvantage is the limited range of damage to 800 meters, which reduces the scope of its application.

The advantage is the absence of the need to take into account the effect of wind and projectile ballistics.

In a real grenade launcher, the trigger button does not return to its original position after being pressed – it can only be pressed once. In the simulator, this button has no restrictions, allowing for continuous training.
